The NetROCKEY4 Server program then controls the access restrictions based on parameters set by the developer. NetROCKEY4 supports the TCP/IP, IPX and NetBIOS protocols used by most of today's modern networks. It also includes intuitive graphical programs for configuring and testing the security system. And NetROCKEY4 does not impose a software limit on the number of simultaneous users that may attach to the dongle.

NetROCKEY4 supports redundant client-server environments. Clients may be configured to search for any NetROCKEY4 protected Server program available on the network. Each NetROCKEY4 Server program may be configured with an independent maximum user count, giving developers both the flexibility and the confidence to deploy NetROCKEY4 in environments that cannot suffer outages.
